EMTRAC Estimated Time of Arrival
The EMTRAC system combines precise positioning with secure RF communication to accurately report vehicle arrival times—while enabling signal controllers to accommodate priority requests with minimal interruption.
The EMTRAC system is capable of reporting ETA using both fixed geographic detection and variable time-point-based detection (at defined time-distances from the destination). The system is also easily customized to allow for timing changes or conditions that must be met before signal priority is granted for specific vehicles.
Benefits of EMTRAC ETA
- Ease of Installation: The EMTRAC system handles EVP, TSP, and ETA seamlessly—and without requiring additional equipment. Ability to coexist with legacy systems without disrupting priority response or signal coordination.
- Reliability: Wireless communication is not hampered by adverse weather conditions and is not limited to clear line-of-sight radio paths.
- Flexibility: Agencies can reconfigure the system as needed. System edits may include (but are not limited to): Timepoint changes per-intersection approach, Detection-zone settings for specific vehicles (to allow for route changes), Vehicle priority levels, and so on.
- Precision: Dead reckoning capability provides continuous vehicle-position accuracy, even in unfavorable urban environments.
- Timeliness: Improve schedule adherence by requesting priority only when specified conditions are met.
Features of EMTRAC ETA
- Combines ETA functionality with EMTRAC EVP/TSP (or existing systems) to provide effective signal coordination.
- Display vehicle locations in real time, while EMTRAC software automatically collects system-wide activity data.
- Update ETA log as often as every second, and report ETA data to passenger information systems.
- View detailed status and activity logs, generate reports, and export them as spreadsheet files.
- Vehicle unit can be set up to cancel ETA calls based on designated events (such as door status, stop requests, parking brakes, and so on).
- Ability for intersection units to relay EVP requests to adjacent intersection detectors based on the intended direction (as indicated by turn signals).
- Meets the most demanding communication-range requirements.
