EMTRAC Traffic & Signal Monitoring
As municipal traffic agencies have continued to enhance intersection signal performance, the need for comprehensive data collection and monitoring has becoming increasingly important.
The EMTRAC Intersection Data Collection Unit enables transportation professionals to evaluate actual traffic and signal conditions—and use this data to creatively and effectively resolve traffic-congestion issues.
EMTRAC Data Collection
The EMTRAC system utilizes a rack or cabinet-mounted Data Collection Unit (DCU), which is capable of supporting either NEMA TS-1 or TS-2 signals. The DCU is capable of monitoring traffic-signal, vehicle-detector, and pedestrian status, as well as MMU and local flash conditions.
In TS-2 versions, the DCU interfaces with the cabinet’s SDLC BUS to retrieve event-based data, archive the data locally, and then forward the data to a remote location through an Ethernet connection.
In TS-1 versions, the DCU is equipped with a D-sub connector that supports wired inputs for all monitored states.
Both versions utilize a three-card-style EMTRAC Priority Detector cabinet and include a USB port for local data archiving.
